How many action figures can you display in a standard 90G?

Wow great to see you back too - I just set up a tank last month.

Seems like a lot of the "old regulars" are back at it.

Cheers
James

This reminds me I need to do a build thread.

Oh, and I'm going with fish-only, but will not be adverse to macroalgae and whatever lower-light corals I can get away with around the angels I plan to have in there.

Okay, getting everything out of storage now. Here's the tank after being vacuumed out and cleaned up...it's ready to go!

Heavily rinsed the little bit of substrate I had...thought I had more. It was enough for a thin layer on the bottom so I can form up the rock structure. When I'm done with the rock I'll get a big bag of sand and lay it all around the rock.

Rock work is done! Now I need to get a bunch of sand to pour around the structure. Left some places to fit pieces of live rock that will seed the tank.

Looking good Chip! Can't wait to see some fish in there.

What are you going to do for lighting? I'm guessing with a FOWLR, you won't need halides.

Okay, today was eventful!

Got a 40 pound bag of aragonite that filled out the substrate nicely...about 2" average all around.

Mixed the saltwater in buckets and filled the tank to about 2" from the top for when I adjust the salinity and add the live rock to seed the tank.

Right now running an Aquaclear 110 (500) with just the sponge in it. I won't put the carbon in until after the live rock is in there.

Also ordered a Korelia 4 (1200gph) to help with the flow and surface disruption.

Not sure about stocking right now, and since it's at least a month away I have time.

I'm thinking 5 fish max? I'd like an Aussie Tusk, and after that prolly two angels, one butterfly, and one tang.

Peace,

Chip

There's a single NO strip on there right now, and I'll prolly put a double NO strip on there too. Get one regular bulb and a couple actinics.

Don't need much more than that, I would think.

Peace,

Chip

The tank, full and running this evening. :) Will measure the salinity tomorrow and Tuesday, then head to the LFS to select a few choice pieces of live rock to seed it on Thursday. Bruce has nearly 1,000 pounds in stock so hopefully I can get some unique forms.

A quick question on temp/salinity. I'm not really that concerned what the levels end up at, but right now I'm shooting for 79 degrees and 1.022 or thereabouts on each.

My question is : how long should the tank be running and circulated before the salinity is considered "stable" given minimal evap and nothing added? I added some more salt to the tank today to raise the level and was curious. Three days? A week?

Peace,

Chip
