I just received the 30 watt LED spotlights from LCK LED and they are just bare wires with no plug. When I emailed them back in March they emailed me back that they came with the plug and could be used in US sockets. Their CS is really slow and I am not aware of what they can do about it all the way from China. I would be fine with them crediting my CC with the cost of wiring the fixture.

Should I take photos and copies of the emails and dispute the charge with my credit card company?

It's not my fault they cannot translate English properly(or outright lied to make a sale).

That sucks, you think you need a transformer or can just get a plug from home depot and wire it?

I could probably just wire it, but the wires are not marked +/-/ground. Any wire could be any of the 3. Also why should I pay more out of pocket than I already have.

Here is my inquiry email:

Hi, Dan

Thanks for your interested in our led products, the 30W LED Flood Light will come with the power cord, which you could plug directly to the US sockets.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Elvis Law

Yeah well that's the issue with dealing directly with China.. sometimes you save a buck, often you get screwed out of stuff. I'd still continue with the inquiries, it could be that they did end up sending you a cord, it's just that 2 week cargoship from China takes time.

As to the 3 wires, are they color coded at all? white black green? red black green?

There are one of yellow/black/green. Green should be the ground so I can wire the other two either way +/-. They did not forget, they did not interpret English to chinese correctly IMO. I will request some sort of rebate and if they refuse I will take it up with the credit card company.

Cool should be neg black and yel pos, get some pics up when you get it going. I am interested in how it's gonna look. Hopefully the heat sink is good so the bulb life is good. I think your right on if they wont do a refund of some type the credit card company should help.

try 3-4 weeks :) I've waited as long as long as two months for shipments due to Cyclones. They claim 11 days is the average so I guess every shipment I have gotten has taken much longer then the average. Customs can take several days as well, depending on the port.

They are sending me plugs that are color coated the same. There delivery estimate through regular postal service is 7-10 (business)days from the day after it is mailed.

Even if I get these to work I will need to order more lights from them. At least now I know what to expect and to make note to wire the lights before they ship them to me. They now have a 50 watt spotlight. It is far cheaper than what Ecoxotic is going to charge for their 50watt Photon Cannon(About $600 they say 8O ).

How we doing on this? I really want to get one for my mostly fish only to save on some electricity costs. Anything else popping up in the LED area that looks interesting?

I found this:
http://store.axiomled.com/AXLE7_SW65_Wh ... 7-sw65.htm

The only problem is that there are no blue ones listed. I sent them an email to see if they can get them. Pre wired per LED and all you need to do is wire it to a power supply and cord/plug. Two per foot is pretty good and 6500K is good, but will need blue supplements. You could retrofit these real cheap. I could even wire these.

specs kind of not very professional.... it is 30W, 50W, 100W, or somewhere in between?

But one single LED with that much power is definitely very impressive. Must need to dissipate a lot of heat around the bulb.

Just noticed that the light output is not linear with wattage, but it is certainly cheaper per lumen. I guess nothing is perfect. :(

You could look at other sites for straight blue bulbs, even cheap ones will do.
