Tank weight????

Hey guys, I'm in need of your valuable help once again. It looks as though I'm moving across the country in a month or so, I'm bringing minimal possessions but I'm doing my best not to part with the tank, of course. Does anyone know, off the top of their head, the weight of an empty glass 46 gallon bowfront and its stand? I have no way of weighing it myself (or moving it around for that matter, tehe) and i'd like to determine shipping costs. The stand is 37x17x32 and made of dense fiberboard with a glass and plastic front panel. Thanks to all!!!

Its almost impossible to guess even by physically lifting it.
The tank manufacture might have a dry weight on the tank but I doubt the stand manufacturer would have anything readily available if you were to get ahold of them.

Yeah, it's impossible to say, but I would guess a 46 glass is about 100 lbs (that's about how much a 50 lb glass tank weighs) and your stand is about that much as well. 200 lbs should be in the neighborhood.

Actually i would bet that both tank and stand maker have exact shipping weights if you were to call them, these things are shipped all over the US and they know these weights to base their costs on....if your stand is custom local then no...otherwise yes...

a 46 bow is 53lbs from AGA....the stand will ~same weight...

I bought both the tank and stand off a friend so im not sure of the manufacturer, its not indicated on either of them. But 200 lbs seems reasonable. Thanks a ton!!!

Shipping weights are as follows according to my system here at work:

46 gallon aquarium manufactured by All Glass is listed at 55lbs.
46 gallon bow front glass top manufactured by All Glass is listed at 9lbs
46 gallon bow front wooden stand manufactured by All Glass is listed at 41lbs

Those are the weights in our system as provided by the manufacturer. As far as I know they are accurate, but I haven't weighed them myself. 105lbs total for tank/top/stand. This is of course if it is the same manufacturer, but your description of the stand does not sound like one of the All Glass aquarium stands which are generally all wood construction without any glass.
