Looking very clean. It's gonna look great once everything grows out.

You made me realize I need less rock. Also, just to let everyone know, I found Len his crazy scolymia. :D

I noticed you positioned your vortechs in the center of the side walls instead of near the back wall. I think that's a good change. Should they be lower though? Seems like most of the flow will be near the top, especially since you have a pretty tall tank (30"). You should have enough surface agitation from your returns. So your 1262 is feeding 2 oceans motions dual omni-nozzles?

Thanks for the Scoly heads up :P

The Vortechs do much better when it's not blasting the rear center overflow box. I would move them lower, but it obstructs too much of the view. I get plenty of water movement (and no air being sucked in) at the current height, so I'm not looking to change it. And yeah, my 1262 feeds 2 ocean motions dual omnis.

I still can't believe you're posting tank pics. It's almost too good to be true. That's a sick scolymia... super nice pics!!

Yeah. How 'bout a close up of the scoly!

Len, will you come re-aquascape my tank for me? You are clearly better at this than I am.

Aww. I'm actually not a big fan of my right side when viewed from the front, but it's going to look very different when my corals grow out. I aquascaped it with the corals in mind.

Slow monday, so here's a doodle of what I expect my tank to look like once the frags grow out :P If I don't post photos in 2 years, just refer back to this post.

Yeah, me too! I'm loving this start.

Live rock doesn't look very diverse though. :P

I think you need some encrusting doodles on the rockwork more.

I plan to add encrusting doodles to fill in the blanks after I get the other stuff in place :)

I just moved most of my snails on to the glass so they don't keep knocking over (the same two) frags. They're banished for a month to let the acros encrust.

FUnny picture, you got a nice rock work layout cant wait to see it fill in. You seem to have your flow mostly at the top, your not worried about flow in the bottom of the tank being weak and letting stuff build up under the rocks and in the sand and stuff?

I might lower the Vortechs an inch. But they move water in a very big area, so I get a lot of flow from top to bottom. I just have a bit less flow towards the very sides of the tank (area below the Vortechs), but I don't think I can fix that by lowering the Vortechs.

The picture is silly, but I actually plan on the tank growing out pretty close to that. But of course, I can't control how corals grow, but that's how I've placed my frags in hopes of growing out that way.

Installed my kalkreactor. Hopefully my coralline and SPS growth will take off.

Last Monday, I put in a Puralator filter sock without rinsing, and it wrecked my water. It shut down my skimmer's foam production for half a day and made my polyps retract for a few days. Things are returning back to normal, and I plan on a water change in a few days (was already scheduled anyhow).

Got four incredible Scolymia australis, along with seven Pseudanthias flavoguttatus and a Fragilis plate coral. Here's a picture of my little gems, looking peeved after having gone through 14 hours of shipping then be subjected to my intensive dipping process ;) They're returning back to normal in my tank. More pictures to come.

I don't know what the "in" corals are :) I just picked what was pretty and unique. I didn't want all my Scolys being the "bleeding apple" color scheme.

Ya. The nice ones still cost at least a couple hundred :( I've seen some silly prices on Scolys.

Four new T.maxima clams just added today. Here's a picture of them being transported from QT to the display tank. I put them through a lot (FW dip, quick TMPCC, quick Revive, Flatworm Exit, and worked them with a good ol tooth brush and razor blade). I'm hoping they'll open up fully tomorrow.
