id on algae w/pic

while i was taking pics i have been looking for what this is grows like a weed- feels brittle and is small biggest is around 1/2 inch prob

question for you...are the branching bits that you can see on the far left of pic 1, associated with
the algae? I think I just picked up a rock with those spindly green branches, and if they are part
of the same algae, this should get interesting. I hate to tell you but I have seen alot of algae, but
that one is new to me. I like the look of it, though.

Maybe something in the Acetabularia genus? If you can get a closer shot to an individual piece we could probably get it pretty close.
