Achilles Tang - Looking for Red Graciliaria - LI/Queens

I have a juvenile Achilles Tang that will only eat algae sheets (Achilles Tang Juvenile Video)... I found a forum where a reefer reported a lot of success feeding Red Graciliaria. So looking to pick some up.

Anyone in LI/Queens have some Red Graciliaria that I can pickup?

As long as it’s eating I’m not to worried. Just hoping to add some diversity for a healthy diet.

Absolutely... a lot of my tangs only do that when watching the others :: you can trying mixing the nori with some other food as well

Try feeding brine or mysis soaked with spirulina before just plain frozen foods. And soak in garlic too

Thanks for the reply.... That’s exactly how I feed the frozen foods now, so I’ll just stick with it. I’ll let you know how the Red Graciliaria goes. Looks like I’ll have to order it from Live Aquaria or Algae Barn

that algae is easily found in jamaca bay during low tide. Should still be there for a couple of months. Plenty of green ulva also. Just wash/dunk the algae in fresh water to remove pathogens, dino, cyano, etc, before putting into your tank. Or after washing, you can grow your own supply in a bucket with air stone and a really bright light. Go to cross bay blvd bridge, park on the east side and walk towards the subway bridge. Plenty of algae.
