hi mr reefers, every time i hand wash my filter socks, something like needles always poke my hands....finally I found 3 pieces from the socks before I start wash it today. they looks like a sharp micro sps skeleton, do you guys know what exactly they are? thanks in advance!

they're about 1mm in length, very tiny as micro bone.

do you have leathers? those look like exoskeleton shards from leather or sinularia type corals.

thanks for your input coralcruze. but I am still confusing about this bond looking things, I got some leathers there but they're soft corals, am I wrong?

the base of the leather has spike things that are call spicules and they are used to stiffen the base of the leather and also as self defense. if the base starts to waste away, you may see it.
