Metal Halide Ballast

2 of my luxcore 400w ballast died. My question is, is there a difference between luxcore/ icecap ballast vs the cheaper 400w ballast thats for sale on Amazon? What's makes them different?

you get what you pay for..personally I wouldn’t trust a cheaper ballast for the fear of a short or fire. The Lux, Icecap,Hamilton etc...are made with better quality materials with quality assurance and warranties designed for marine usage...JMO
