Doing some maintenance on my finnex hc-810m heater when I came across the plug looks to me like it’s got swollen. As you can see in the pic I’m Not sure if it was over heating or what. The plastic on the inside looks a little melted. I come to you for some advice.

looks fine to me, if you want to sand it down a bit, clean off the rust. The metal should be sealed by the rubber/plastic. That's how they were designed, but I'm assuming you're thinking there's rust inside also, causing the swelling, If so you can simply replace the plug and as much wire with a new one from home depot. Very easy to do, just don't get the ground and the neutral mixed up, heh.

Julio it looks ok, but I would use a GFCI outlet and spray the connections with silicone spray which will keep it rust free and repel water and salt creep. All my equipment plugs are sprayed and plugged into GFCI outlets. I even spray my bulb connections....
