About 6 weeks ago I bought a Green Machine 24 watt UV sterilizer, I did not do my due diligence on researching and it turns out that it is not suited for marine tanks.

That said if someone has a fresh water tank and would be interested please let me know.

It was bought 6 weeks ago and used for less than a week.

Retail is $79.99 at Petco (where I bought it from) so I think that $50.00 is a fair price.

I'm located in Chappaqua, anyway please let me know. Thank you.

I had one and it worked real good. When I had a algae bloom. My tank water was green. It cleared my water but notice the glass broke inside. Wondering if saltwater had something to do with it.

I see, yeah I just read a lot saying that it is more for freshwater so I figure why chance it.

Freshwater UV may have metal sleeve that will rust in salt water. open it up and look for a metal sleeve. If there isnt a sleeve or any metal parts. It is ok to be use in a marine tank.
