you don't want them to dissolve, you want them to settle. Don't start adding chemicals to the tank. The PH of 8.2 is fine for a marine tank.

yes i agree also the lower ph could harm the bacteria in the live sand. have patience, you will learn fast in this hobby the rushing in to thinks is a recipe for disaster.

Stop messing with it, turn off the pumps and let the sediment settle from the water column and after that is done turn things on slowly. Then mess with the PH or something. If your not using a test meter or a salifert test kit your PH is probably good.
