we'll considering I've sold only 1 frag in the past 3 years since I've got this thing up and running... I can safely say it does not pay for itself. let alone the electric, heh. At least my frag rack is up and running. As for breeding fish, now that doesn't pay on a small scale.

I keep a excel sheet to track how much I spend. I've only been in the hobby for less than a year and boy are the numbers growing.

i am sure everyone has gone over budget, however if the hobby has put you into debt you most likely shouldn't be involved with it. sorry to sound harsh
^ This.

This is often said in car hobby with specific cars. You pay to play and the "MOE PWR BABY" it is. Expect your wallet to burn that green even faster!!

Thats truly the most important green in the car hobby!

?

Unless your doing a chop shop, buying colonies and fragging them out to recoup some money. It'll take awhile for a ROI. I am sure there are other ways to find cheap corals but is it sustainable?

I'd like to see prices on wholesale to see if it would make sense.
