they were both fine for about a month but the day i added a sailfin tang and a purple tang the coral beauty started attacking the firefish. i think the coral beauty might feel intimidated by the new fish and is taking it out on the firefish, but what can i do?

The firefish is a goby, their natural defense is to escape to their "bolt" hole. I'm going to assume it doesn't have one. It would be dug into a deep sand bed, or a long, narrow cave. Assuming it was unable to dig a burrow, You can create a plastic cave using PVC piping or something similar, needs to be narrow. If too complex, hold the one of the fish in a floating box or grilled tupperware, like a colander. This is a "time out" spot GL

as long as the goby can get fed, you are witnessing a natural event. It's much faster than the angel and over time the angel may simply give up. like a dog trying to catch a mouse. The time out box is just to allow the goby recover and find a better hiding spot, possible a cave with multiple entrances. like a fox trying to catch a wise, older rabbit. you can help by creating a multi entrance cave system, in which the entrances are on opposite sides and not in direct line of sight. That way the angel won't know if the goby comes out the other size. A simple pipe going across the mountain would work.
