Once upon a time all the LFSes and most tanks in the area had tiny mysis visible in the overflow and small crevices, but then came the dreaded Red Bugs and we all treated our tanks with Interceptor and overnight these little guys disappeared from most hobbyist's tanks. I've been on the hunt for years without success. Does anyone in the tri-state area have something like this in their sump or overflow. I would pay handsomely for a bag of water with a few of these guys inside.

I have half a mind to contact the Norwalk Aquarium and beg them for some because you can see them clearly there as well.

If you're in CT, you can collect amphipods gammarus from the ocean, they bloom in late spring though mid summer, though there are available year round. Simply net a bag of ulva or any macro algae, floating at a marina or any sheltered cove. I think by the end of May, you'd be able to scoop up hundreds easily.
