Lost my favorite fish

I had a beautiful 4" scribbled angel that was my favorite fish and when I went downstairs this morning, I found him/her on the floor. Here is my question: I have been keeping saltwater fish since 2006 and the only carpet surfers I ever had were wrasses. Has anyone else had an angel jump out of their tank?

No, sorry for your loss! They are one of favorite!! Any aggression towards him? Maybe he was getting chased? I keep lids on my tanks. Just a thought? Thanks Tom

No, no aggression at all. I am in the process of making screens for the top but obviously not soon enough.

Sorry to hear this, hate when that happens. Scribbled can definitely jump out, i had one before that would lunge out at food. They are in season right now so you can possibly get a replacement. I am thinking about getting another one again as well....

Sorry for your loss, but it seems that you should prepare a lid for your tank, something like a long LED light to prevent fish from jumping out.
