Last week I came home after being away for a few days and found that my 80g main display totally shattered from the bottom and found everything - sand, rock, corals, inverts, fish - scattered all over my basement floor.

System is totally recked 😞

The rock that came crashing down destroyed all my equipment in the sump except for my phosban canister.

I don't know what could have caused it, especially since the air-conditioning was on while we were away and everything else was normal.

Reaching out to see if anyone else here went through something like this and if has any advice on picking up the pieces.

I’m sorry. That is terrible. I never went though something like that but it looks like a complete redo. I guess salvage what you can but it’s like starting from scratch. Go overbuilt and stay away from Red Sea.

This is a first for me. Sorry to see that this happened to you. Something had to have fallen onto the tempered bottom, hit it at the right angle and then caused the shatter.

It's interesting that all of that water came crashing down but didn't fill the sump up.

Salvage what you can and I'm sure this community will help you with the rest!

Must be, I can't think of any other way.

The sump level was about 3 inches higher than normal, so it definitely filled up and probably spilled over.

Most of the water seems to have been directed out the sides of the open stand. The next day I happened to find my lyretail anthias in a 5g bucket I used as an ATO reservoir while I was gone. He must have been there for a day or two in 1.01 salinity water. I threw him and the few snails and rock I was able to salvage into a spare 5g tank.

I plan on rebuilding, just don't know how I'm going to find a few k to restart. Hoping my XR15s didn't get fried and it's just the power cords that need replacement.

Also a (very obvious) PSA: MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ON A GFCI.

I added a few smart outlets and 3 way adapter literally a week ago (was trying to gauge energy consumption of my system) and they all caught fire, which could have easily led to a larger house fire. Not at all worth the risk.

You can see in the back of the picture.

I'm so sorry to hear about the crash. It sounds like a nightmare. For now, focus on cleaning up safely and assessing what can be salvaged. Once you're ready to rebuild, consider using a more robust stand. Before making my purchase, I checked the reviews on https://ukwritings.com/reviews and I’m glad I did! The positive feedback gave me the confidence to use their services, and I wasn’t disappointed. The writer provided a well-organized, thoroughly researched essay that was delivered on time. The quality was outstanding, and the entire process was smooth and hassle-free. I’m very satisfied with the service and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality essay-writing services.

You are right, I agree with you.
