? for maxi-jet oners. I put a mod on an old 1200 mj. now the flow is 1600 gph. my ? is. would I get 1600 gph if I used a smaller maxi or less?

That is quite a step up with a mod.. a maxi jet 1200 i believe is 295 gph.. now it is 1600 gph???

Was it the prop Mod or the putting holes on the underside and hack off the output side,
or did you make the mod?

Yes , Sorry. It comes from Algae free,Sure Flow 1600 , Maxi-jet upgrade kit.The box said works with maxi-jet 400,600,900,&1200.:scratchch

How do you like it so far?
I made 3 one for my 1200 and 2 for my 600's but I just got a wave maker
and worried about it not working right at the wrong time...

yes definately 1600 gph

junglebase, the mod has a different intake model and propeller - Alga free even has larger propeller impeller that can creat up to 2500gph

I ask . why not buy a 400 , in stead of a 1200. I just put a maxi with mod in my 75 gal. reef tank. I have a korali #4 in their too. The maxi is 400 gph moor flow, less $,looks nicer, and is smaller.
