ODYSEA store in Mohegan Sun

I was up at Mohegan Sun casino in CT a few weeks ago and saw this awesome store. You guys definately have to check it out. When you first enter the store u walk through a giant tunnel shaped sw tank. Inside its some kind of jewelry craft store but inside they have a giant display shark tank, reef tanks, salt water tank, fresh water tank. I think the smallest tank i saw was 180 reef tank and the largest had to be the 3000+ gallons black tip shark tank.

I was up there last year and saw those tanks. They are pretty impressive. I wonder how many gallons the doorway tank is? The whole casino was very nice as well.

My guess would be at least a 2000 gallons.

Do a search. We had a thread with pix on here awhile back. They are awesome tanks. Do they still have the clownfish tank? That was about 8 feet tall and was exclusively clowns.

I was there not to long ago and the tanks were a mess. I had spoke to one of the service guy`s and he said that there compresor was down so they couldn`t dive into the tanks....

Oh bad thing about that place though, they have one big tank with atleast 40 clown fishes in there. And if you look carefully, their fins are all gone because they fight each, I am assuming. Condition of those fishes were really bad. Other than that, they got very impressive tanks. I really can't remember what they were selling though, lol.

Odysea store in Mohegan Sun

I am a retired lighting designer and lighting the aquariums at Odysea Mohegan Sun was one of my last projects. I saw a post inquiring about the size of some of the tanks. Some of them were actually 30 to 40 thousand gallons. It was quite a project and I wish I had more photos of the finished project including the retail store area which I also designed.
