I just got the OCT int PS 200 and its an awsome skimmer, I do feel the venturi mod is necessary because you can feel how restricted airflow is but even with that it seems to do good. I really think after I do that it will be best bang for buck out there.

This has a lot of info and covers detailed descriptions of the venturi and mesh mod. Both enhance performance a million times and if you plan correctly and get correct parts the first time, cost 10-20$ and take 20 mins
