hey everyone i did my water testing today and my calcium is of the roof how is this possible here are my results temp-82
salt level-.025
ph-8.2
dkh-8.3
alk-2.97
calcium-over 800
any ideas of what the hell is wrong my test kits are good i use sal1fert test kits and there not expired

test your nsw for ca. if the level is between 300-500 then the test kit is probabaly right. if u dose ca, then stop. hi ca will lower alk thus ph swings. what is your ph range(right be4 the lights turns on and right after light goes off).
also make sure u r doing the test right.

That's nuts. I know that Oceanic is high in calcium but...

Calcium over 500 usually precipitates out of the water column so that you can actually see it. I would retest it with another kit and then go from there.

no i did the high .i used the salifet kit u are supposed to drop one drop at a time and i used the whole suringe it should start to turn colers at about half way thre and noting happened i contiuned to add drop by drop until there was no more left in the dropper so actually i really dont know if it was 850 but the max on the dropper will only read up to 500 so its def more than that my alk and ph is fine im very confused

Did you accidentally mix the old test kit reagents with a new test kit reagents? Salifert changed their Ca kit in 2004 and the directions actually say the chems arent interchangable. I had an older test kit and accidentally used the wrong reagent once and got a funky reading. My stupidity for not keeping them in the box.
