What do we think about the advice etc. given on this web site? Does it appear to be relaible for the most part? I am very hesitant to trust any site/store selling as much product as advice . . There even appears to be a chart of compatability, which has caught my eye as something that might be very helpful, assuming that it's accurate.

Some of it is reliable some is not, you need to use it and also do some more research if you don't know what you going to buy. Alot of the sizes on the fish are understated and on the corals they list some corals as easy to care for when they aren't. You need to remember that they're in the business to sell fish/coral/inverts so they need to make their write ups appealing so people will buy their items.

I don't use the site that much, but when I have referenced it haven't found any wrong info - any examples, would like to be wrong on this one.

its funny, because you can often go to various sites and get different info on the same things (especially considering Reef-Compatiblity).

Your best best is likely to get some good books that are more independent (not looking to sell you the fish) and tend to go into more detail on each species. At the very least, just type in the name into a search and see what is available on the internet about it.

Alot of the fish size aren't right and the min. tank requirements are also off. I think that the writing isn't their as other sites use similar if not exactly the same write ups.

But their write ups on systems stuff seems pretty right on - at least in the catalog it does.

Yes the catalog write-ups are pretty good and they have great article dealing with different system and equipment that is very helpful.

As for the fish size and tank requirements they're are usally on the low end side, but if they listed what the actually size the fish is going to get or the correct tank requirements people wouldn;t buy the fish.

The book i recommend is Aquarium Corals: Selection, Husbandry, and Natural Selection.
