some people are just d*ck's no matter what and have nothing to add to the hobby except money. you do see alot of the same question's asked over and over, and i can see as a mod it would get old after awhile, but in the same thing not all of the are really the same question. you have different variable's. if i am lost i just pick up the phone and dial reef hotline to get my answer's :tongue1:

Ok Back to topic, forums. Why not suggest in list form some of the forums you would like to see and maybe the admin will take it under consideration.

One thing that comes to mind that is relevant and maybe we already have this. Maybe a section on setting up a new tank. The basics. And insert posts that are relevant. Maybe this would cut back on some of the repeat questions.....just a thought....

Wouldn't that be when you would run a search in Reefs For Beginners? IDK I just don't get the whole need specific tabs thing, it has flown way over my head I guess

I am not the best at using search features, I am a "newb", and proud of it I might add. I do try and find my answers first, and the more I am here the easier that gets.

I think that every aspect of this hobby is ever changing and there is always a different perspective involved when discussing this or that.

And I have a great deal of respect for Mods on any website I am on, after helping a friend Mod his site and going through some of the BS that takes up more time than it is worth, wearing on your last nerve, I totally understand the frustrations involved. :grouphug:

I cant agree with you more. I am also part of an automotive forum and I def know any mod works very hard with little recognition for it. Moving into the area of finding info....When I need info in any forum I do use the search. But as stated you get many unrelated threads just because someone uses one word. I must say that I come across most of my reading by chance on most threads. By searching and falling upon threads by luck. I also utilize the most recent thread options most forums have. This keeps you up to date on the current actions of the forum. Now moving onto tabing forums.....Looking at someone brand new coming into any forum....I think the last thing that they use is the search option and I also believe its the last thing they learn to use. I know for me the first thing I do is browse the diff thread categories. My suggestion may not be exactly what someone new needs but I think we need to look at the site from that perspective as well. I love this site and all that it offers, but I am very computer savvy. People that arent might find it easier to navigate if we detail down the info a bit. All of this is just my opinion and experience and isnt meant to pick a fight in any way :)
