Wow..that was fun! :lol_large

You should have come along..we had a great time at Nerac out at Atlantis today. Long day but well worth the money, travel and time :)

Unfortunately I only got to see one of the speakers..Dr. Yehuda Benayahu from Tel Aviv University -- his presentation on Red Sea corals was quite interesting. We had the opportunity to meet up with reefing friends and some of the vendors that will also be at our Swap in a few weeks and a great time was had by all.
It didnt hurt that a couple of us cleaned up at their Raffle either :splitspin

As always seeing the reef tank at Atlantis is a special treat but having a cocktail hour and dinner in front of it was even better! The food was outstanding and we had the availability to visit behind the scenes at the tank and it was nice to visit all of the other exhibits also since Atlantis was closed to the public after 5 PM. Hopefully someone will post some pics of the lucky fellow who won the chance to snorkle in the reef tank..that was really cool to watch :)

A very special thank you to Joe Yaiullo (Curator of Alantis as well as President of LIRA... who hosted NERAC), Christopher & Todd from Atlantis for their hospitality and answering sooo many questions and ALL of the great members of LIRA who did an outstanding job of putting such a fine event together.

A special thank you as well to James (Dickenscd) for being such a fine & generous host on our journey home

Ok...who has all the pics??

Very informative indeed. We came from Westchester. Might decide to come to your meetings too. Where are they held?

My partner said that some of it was depressing (global warming, pollution, etc)...and it is. Sadly many humans dont learn

I thought Todd's lecture on Plankton and nutrition was great. I threw alot of food out when i got home but I picked up some good stuff from Chris at the h20 life table.

We here at MR don't hold meetings as we aren't a regular club. We do however have our twice yearly Frag Swaps with the next one being on April 26th.
The regular LIRA club meetings are held in Commack on the first Friday of the month, though they are skipping the April meeting due to the recent NERAC show. Their meetings will resume in May.
