I know it's probably impossible due to how they're created in the wild, but has anyone ever tried making a brine pool in the bottom of their tank? I assume that even if it was possible, the amount of flow current in our tanks would mix the water up.

Just a thought, wondering if anyone had ever toyed with

Here's a good picture of one I found... you can even see the separate waves on its surface, underwater.

I have no idea... Its much higher salinity causes it to be more dense then the surrounding sea water so it sinks, and also I think it tends to have temps cooler then the surrounding sea water which is also why it doesn't mix...

But it looks freakin cool!
