Awilda,

I am so sorry.
I just got on line and found this thread.

So sorry for your losses, and thank G-d it wasn't worse or much worse.
FYI, If you ever are desperate for RO water, I usually have plenty on hand.

Thank you Doc!

Michael, thank you so much!

This is by far the most heart breaking event in my reefing experience. I finally had all of my favorite fish living in harmony and healthy only to loose almost all of them in one night.;( I really wanted to throw in the towel.sigh

Awibrandy..so sorry to hear...unfortunately I know that smell too and the water shock also...I have used stealths in the past and all have failed by either shocking me or splitting causing polluted water....I have been using visi therms and ebos in recent years...they seen to be the most reliable ...even more so than the titianiums I've tried.

Thank you Eddie, very kind of you to offer your assistance! Fortunately the situation has been dealt with.;)
Unfortunately, I didn't have a back up heater even though I had purchased quite a few of them at the Petco out by me when they closed. I searched every where and cannot find the buggers. I guess I had them in use and totally forgot to get more. Thank God Kathy came over with a loner.;)

Brendan, I know exactly what you mean. These cell co. promise so much yet they are such a pain. My Iphone has the tendency to erase entire sentences when I only want to erase one misspelled word.arg

sweetsop, thank you for your kind words.
I've had 2 heaters fail me in the past 9 years that I have been in the sw hobby. The first one cooked my fish, the water was as warm as a hot tub. And now this one shorting out. Not sure how to check for a possible short in the stealth and titanium since we can't see in to them.:(

junglebase, I'm sure I would.;)

Thank you Chong!

Mark you may be onto something there....

Mike, it was a Visi Therm Stealth heater that failed..

Thank you CHEMCHEF!

Thanks xoomercom, sure does..

Nikki, thanks for the condolences and yes we worked everything out.

On a positive note; the 2 whipfin fairy wrasse, the Ruby Head wrasse, radiant, Betta, Hippo, are all happily swimming around.

Although I am still devastated by the loss of my gorgeous Sohal, and my wrasse I got to re aqua scape my reef and I am much happier with the results. The 2 angels I won't really miss as I was suspecting them of chowing down on my zoas.:(

To tired for pics, plus I have to charge my cam batteries. But Kathy did take some and she may post her's before I do.

Sorry for your loss Awilda:frown:. I know the feeling. I had a smilier thing happen to me when I had 2 fish in a tub; a power head shorted and was releasing a really bad smell. It took me 2 days to finally find out where the smell was coming from.

It was nice to see that the fish that did make it looked so good last night!
The pics came out very blue..attempted to fix up the FTS, but I don't do that stuff well.. Eitherway - the aquascaping looks FANTASTIC! Luis certainly has a way with rock!

A - I'll drop off another heater during my travels today and will try and
find the other 'end' of the titanium one also.
