Pump for 65G - To much flow?

I am setting up a 65G with a lifereef sump.
I am thinking of using an external pump.
Is a pump with 1100GPH to much?
I would run it for the return to the tank, the chiller, 2 canisters (carbon & phosban?)

if you dial it back on the return it wont be too much plan to use a gen x pc 40 on new tank, run return 2 phos reactors and chiller

I have an Ehiem 1262 on my 58. Since I have it going through my chiller, I get ~300gph. It's not enough flow. I have a Vortec, so I'm covered though.

I think an 1100 GPH split the correct way would be great for a 65. You only want about 100gph going through your phosban, and either split your return between your chiller and your tank, or all of it through the chiller and into the tank.

I agree. I have an Eheim 1262 on my 72 running through the chiller and it is fine. I also have a Vortech, so it's all good. Besides, Eheims are indestructible. Great pumps.

I have direct 1400gph return in my 65 with a 1200 gph powerhead.
