vodka dosing???

If you can dose vodka without a denitrifier, why would you buy a denitrifier that runs on vodka?? Mine uses methanol a form of alcohol and stronium nitrate. It can be tailored to the level of phosphate and nitrate in my system, it also gives off good bacteria, Alk and stronium as end product of a cycle...
