i feel kind of stupid on how i got stung. the bottom line is that i did. it got me right on the the palm of my hand. it hurt real bad, then the pain started shooting through my hand then felt pulsating sensations in my hand. i wash it with soap and water and tried to squeeze the blood out to rid some of the venom. after about 30 minutes or so it was feeling much better the pulsating and pain went away. now it just feels sore. im pretty glad im not allergic to the venom. the lesson to be learnt here is their sting hurts like no tomorrow and one should not put them selmselves at risk for a sting unless they like pain. :splitspin

Anytime you have fish that have venom you need to be aware of where they are in the tank before you place your hand in. You also need to be aware that some fish spook very easy, like Rabbit & Foxfaces do, so you need to be extra careful around them.

To get rid of the sting it's best to run the part that was stung under very hot water or place it under a hot light, like a MH. Just be careful when placing it under a MH as you can get a very nasty burn from the bulb.

Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Good you are well though.... I got stung by my extra large lion once, and once by a baby lion. Since then I make sure someone else is there keeping an eye on my lions when I had to work on the tanks they were in.;) You can make sure you know where they (fish) are when you stick your hand in the tank, but that does not mean they are going to stay where you saw them.;)
When the big lion got me I wanted to cut my hand off, that's how intense the pain was. Nothing helped to get rid of the pain. Oh yeah both times they got my thumb.

And my zebra eel bit one of the guys that moved my tanks here.

So yes, wear heavy duty gloves or have someone standing watch while your hands are in the tank...;)

You'll be alright, foxface vemon is not too bad unless if you are allergic to it, if the pain went away in 1 hour, you're good to go. Lionfish and stingrays are a diffierent story.
