Excited about the Frag Swap!

Greeting Members and Friends,
I finally joined the message board! I am looking forward to coming to the FRAG Swap on Sunday and to bringing some of my fifth grade students and parents from P.S. 58 The Carroll School in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn.

The overwhelming generosity and support we have received through the past several years has been incredible. I am excited to announce we will be setting up a new system in our school's lobby beginning on Friday December 11th.

My fifth graders can't wait!

To everyone who has made a donation to us directly or through Randy, I sincerely thank you!

The children and families delight in observing and greeting our marine friends every day.

I hope to start a blog in early 2010 and post updates on our new system once things are up and running!

We look forward to once again seeing you and your students at the swap. How wonderful that you are setting up a new system in the lobby. It was exciting to witness how much interest you have generated with the kids at your school and I'm sure we can rally some of our folks to come visit the school again.

We must be sure that your group is there for one of the fragging demonstrations. I recall how interested & amazed the kids (and parents) were the last time.

Hey Keith,
Welcome to Manhattan Reefs Just so you folks know, Keith is the amazing science teacher at my son's elementary school and we have been working closely for the past 3 or 4 years developing a science education through marine aquariums curriculum at the school. MR has been tremendously instrumental in this endeavor and the support we have received from members, admins and vendors has been just incredible.

If you see Keith and some of the kids at the swap make sure to take the time to say hi and find out what they are all about. Working with the kids is truly one of the most rewarding hobby experiences I have ever had.

Hey RD - whatever happened to the pics from the last trip we made over there - when the tanks were a little more mature?

It will be great to see Keith and the kids again at the swap!

sigh. The DOE now requires written permission from the parents to post photos of the kids on-line which frankly is too much of a hassle to go through.
