Anyone have any ideas for this.

Currently I have an issue with low Calcium which I am dealing with. But this actually has happened before that issue. My Octospawn grew out about 4 inches and split into 4 heads. The flesh from the bottom of the base has since move upward.

Any ideas. I feed it a few times a week and seems happy. Thanks

Yeah I have one too but it was never that far down. From the looks of it, it seems like it's retreating to make space for newer heads. Looks like there are 3 tiny ones. That's how mine is growing, there's 3 baby heads around the base of the mature one. I could take a pic to show you what mine looks like tomorrow, my main lights are off right now and wouldn't be so easy to see

I guess the cause that I believed it was the issue was due to the small heads around the base. They are slowly going away as well. I would think the flesh around those portions would stay. But if it's seems fine sounds good to me.

The little heads really never make it to full size. It could take a couple of years before they are even close to full size.

Hammers and frogspawns don't keep tissue all the way down to the base, as they grow they will move off of it. That is usually a good indication that you can frag them below that level if you decide to cut them.

Mine have been growing in this fashion for years, nothing to worry about. I wedge the bone end of mine in between rocks with frag glue to keep it in place.
