do they grow stem first. so from what i see on my frag of zoo's there all open and underneath one of the polypes there a stem of another one with a polyp. is that a soon to be new polyp on my frag. hmmm let me no. thanks
"Reproduction: Though zoanthids reproduce sexually much as do the true corals, the most common form is asexual. Under regular conditions, very frequently you?ll find a piece of material at the base of a colony gives rise to a new individual; a reproductive method termed gemmation."
Best way to understand growth patterns is to stare at a piece of SPS for an hour every day for about a month. With some tank raised colonies you can actually see growth day to day.
LPS doesn't work quite as well due to the polyp covering up the base of the corallites.
yea i no ive been starring at this frag for the past 2 weeks i no this is not alot of time but the polyps have gotten bigger and theres a new stem. looks like things are going good.
