I have noticed that I have some new visitors to my Aquarium, they are very thin small worm-like creatures, about an inch long, as thick as a thread. They float along and writhe around my aquarium and hang out on the corals.

Has anyone encountered such a problem?

Know what they are?

And how do I get rid of them? Should I be worried? will they ruin my environment? HELP

any information would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like some worm in your tank might have had a spawning event, if there're just suddenly a lot of them. I'm pretty sure some of the worms in our tank essentially give birth to miniature versions of themselves.

*shrugs* Odds are that if you've got any fish in the tank they'll get eaten if they're out in the open anyway.

i've seen swimming worms before. i can't remember where i was able to I.D. them, but they are harmless. i only had a few when the tank was young, and they must have died off. how many are you seeing?
and then as sevTT said, a spawning event could have happened, although, i don't think the larvae are 1" long.
i think they are Dorvilleidae, or spionid epitoke.
