I am looking to breed copepods. If I buy a bottle of tigger pods,2 gallon tank, airstone, water from my tank, and a piece of live rock will copepods be able to survive and reproduce? Do they need to be fed?
Yes they need to be fed. Diatoms work the best, along with some crushed up flake food.
Also, 2 gallon tanks don't work as well as vassals that have a large surface area. They don't care about depth as much as surface area. We recommend dark colored kitty litter pans or the likes. Clear isn't preferred.
i guessing since say u want buy 2 gallong tank u dont have a fuge a fuge is ideal for pods i got small amount a few months back throw them in my fuge i have two fish that live down there they just dont get along with some the member in my dt i feed them ever other day and u would not beleive how pods reproduce in the last 2/3 months
i would just set up a fuge on your main salt water tank and put them into the fuge. i got a container of pods and poured them into my fuge and i have thousands now. they live in my calerpa and cheeto. you dont have to do anything special for them. every now and then i throw some powder food by ocean neutrition called nano food. they breed like crazy and enter my tank naturally all the time
