Tom Tooth Doc was over yesterday and saw first hand that the glass in my 34 G Solana had a NICE haze of brown algae on the glass. I have to clean the glass every day to some degree but for comparison I only have to clean my 14 G Biocube maybe once a week.

Both are using same water Instant Ocean- water change 10% a week.

Lighting 150 MH 6.5 hours per day- 6w LED on all day.

Phosphate - .05 PPM
Salinity -1.026
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - .5 ppm
Cal - 380 ppm -little low
ph -8.2
Temp -77

So Now the obvious- the tank is next to a window that is covered plus the windo is in a porch- yes it does get indirect sunlight.

What else can i be looking for?

I've noticed that I get a lot more problem algae when I have a low pH, which is usually due to a low alk level, which is usually due to a low Mg level. Or my neglect. Either way. ;)

Hey Rich,

Can you post a pic of the tank. Curious to know if it's the same issue I had. My problem was that I had way too much white lighting in the tank (I also have indirect sunlight). I went lights out for a day and dialed in the blue more and it's gone now.
