Wanted to get a couple of books about our hobby. I've heard of "Clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson and "Corals" by Eric Borneman. Anyone have any other suggestions?
i wish i could remember who it was buy but i just saw this AMAZING book at the boltimore aquarium. i think its just called "Reef". its one of those real big books, probably a 1 1/2 tall and 1 1/2 wide. its bright blue on the cover and i think it was written reef in gold. they had none left for sale there, only a display. i looked through it for about 15 minutes. the nicest pictures ive ever seen of reef tanks and the GBR. probabaly 2-300 hundred pages. amazing. if i can find it online ill post it
Borneman's book is one of my favorites since it gives a lot of specific details for most of the coral species you will see in the hobby, where most of the other books have generalized info around very colorful photos and bar graphs that are all but useless if you have no idea what you are doing to begin with. As for technical aquarium information you are looking at "The Reef Aquarium" set by Sprung and Delbeek. It offers a ton of information for just about every level of the hobby and is completely accessible for anyone with even the slightest grasp of the hobby. As a side note if you ever end up at MACNA or another show where Charles Delbeek is a speaker, don't miss his lecture, he's a great speaker. I wish he taught on the east coast lol.
