Can somebody please help me? I won the 5 stage extreme rodi in the frag swap raffle. I am attempting to install it today. I believe it is rated at 150 gpd. It is apparently pre-installed. Yet, I still have to connect wires. I do not understand the direction. How do I complete the installation. I will be using a sink faucet and drainking the waste water in the same sink drain. I have never used a rodi before. Thanks.

kaozgrunt,

Thank you very much! I actually think I got it. It was pre-assembled. I connected the included line to the tap water in line, pure water out line, and the drain line. Now, I just need to find the faucet adapter. I am assuming one was included I just don't know what it looks like lol. Also, how do I turn it on? It is terrible I don't know this. Thanks once again : )

I recently bought a 5 stage extreme and the instructions are terrible! I had to take a small piece of the white tubing to my local hardware store and have them construct a faucet adapter for my sink that I connected to the white tubing. Air Water and Ice will send you a faucet adapter if you call them.

Meph,

I did not have those instructions. Thank God you sent them because I hadn't connected the pure water line corretly. Rhudgins, I am going to head over to Ace Harware hopefully, within the next hour and purchase a faucet adapter. I am going to bring the tubing like you did! I can't wait to hook up this unit. Hopefully, it will help me see better coral growth!

Ok. I am having a ton of trouble. I made a faucet adapter however, it is leaing so I have to keep the water pressure very low. It is connected to the tube that is the "tap water IN' line. Then the "drain" connecter is connected to the drain tube. My pure water line has barely released any water in the past 2 hours. Maybe a gallon. And the pure water canister is only about 2 inches full. Also, the instructions say to keep the DI bipass valve closed yet when I do no pure water comes out. Water only trickles into the pure water canister and out of the prue water tube when the DI valve is open. The gage isn't registering anything. What is wrong?

You probably don't have any water coming out because you don't have enough pressure to operate the system. You mentioned you only have the water on a little because it's leaking. Gotta fix that leak and open water all the way. Low water pressure will give you no RO in return.

Thinking you gotta keep the Pure Water valve open and fix the leak on the sink so you get enough pressure through the unit. Give it time to fill up the DI chamber, then water will start to come out. The valve with the 4 lines in it is a RO membrane flush valve, think that should be the way you have it.

BTW....Wash those dishes !!!!

You need a real faucet adapter.
Do you know what they look like?

As I mentioned to you earlier - find a plumbing supply house locally (try the real Yellow Pages). If they don't have one, they can order it for you. I've never found one locally here in a store.

For the meantime you might try tightly wrapping that dishcloth around the adapter thing you made and see if you can crank up the water pressure. Just be aware, you may blow the tubing off the bottom of it :(

Hey guys. Yes, I have to wash the dishes. Although, there only two or three in total in the sink lol. kathy, I checked out ACE Hardware next to me and they had stuff to make the adapter so I opted not to make the drive to Lowes. However, I gues I will have to go to Loes and buy it all in one piece. I may just get it from Air, Water, Ice though. So, everything is hooked up correctly though? Thanks.

Call air water and ice and get a faucet adaptor man. They'll probably ship it to you free of charge. Don't waste your time with that adapter you made, it looks like it may potentially cause you more problems than anything else. You have the hook up correct, just need to get the water flowing.

I have the same unit. The instructions are really horrible so i feel your pain. If you don;t want to go with a faucet adapter you can use a piercing valve on the cold water supply under the sink as long as it is not a braided line. I tapped right into the line so i wouldn't have to fidgit around with a faucet adapter leaving the unit always on full pressure with a float valve in a separate container shutting off when full. pm me if you have more issues.
