Before I knew any better I bought these cheap domino damsels at the LFS. As soon as I researched the fish I realized I made a huge mistake. I've had these guys for two years and they have grown four times the size of when I first brought them home. They do nothing but eat and terrorize everything in my tank both living and non-living. I used to think it was amusing to see them interact with crabs and snails but that didn't last long. The worst is when any creature in my tank is stressed and they will stress it to death. They attack me whenever I need to put my hand in the tank and always get in the way whenever I need to take a closer look at something. Every creature in my tank is affected by these damn fish and I really hate them. I can't put anything new in this aquarium without the threat of them killing it. I can only hope that they someday jump out and die. I can't kill a healthy animal but the next time I need to move my tank or do a deep clean, these guys or going in a bucket and never going in my aquarium again.

I know many of you reading this already know about domino damsels. But for anyone who is thinking about adding cheap fish to their tank, don't make the mistake that I made. Cheap fish are great for a novice but a little research goes a long way. I can't find any reason why someone would want these guys in their tank except maybe as bait.

You sound like me when I had my sixline wrasse. I finally got him out my tank which took me 2 weeks and gave it way to my friend. Why you dont you find someone to trade with you? or put them up for sale or trade?

So, going forward you will research the fish before you buy.

Consider it a valuable lesson learned. Not many things you would actually want in your tank are that cheap.
Besides snails.

Oh, and why are you bying fish at Petco when Manhattan Aquariums is in your town?

easy way to get damsels out of your tank.

Turn off all light at night, then at 1:00AM turn on main light. All the fish will be practically blind, you can net them out with a coffee mug. If they are under a large rock, either poke them with something or just wait a minute or so when they drift out of the rock work.

So easy, a caveman can do it...

how do you guys hate a fish that is behaving exactly how it naturally does in the ocean? LOL... with 2 minutes of research before purchase you'll know that they're extremely aggressive fish. ;)
