Salinity

What's a good salinity level for fish only tank with a thin sand bed?its around 1.23 right now and I haven't added the sand yet

People generally keep fish only at lower salinity because they don't need it as high and lower salinity deters ich.
But keeping it at 1.023 is good too

Like ming said 1.023 is fine but you could go lower if you wanted to. I use to keep my fish only tanks in my old store at 1.018

Would that be fine with a trigger and lion fish,or most agressive fish

It would be fine, I've kept many different fish at that salinity level and never had a problem.

Some people keep their sg low to prevent ich -- but they don't actually keep it anywhere close enough to low enough to do so. There's no reason to use anything but the standard NSW sg of 1.024 to 1.026.

I use to keep my fowlr at 1.018 in my early days under the mis guided thinking that it would keep parasites at bay. This of course is not fact.
Now I keep all my tanks at 1.024 - 1.025, and everyone is happy.
