guys really whats the secret? cause my batch of cheato isnt growing and ive had it for a 6 months. its in the fuge with a plant light i got from home depo, good kelvin ratings and all but nothing...and its not like my water is pristine nor is if bad, so it should have sufficient nutrients to grow. so i guess what i want to know what the flow like in ur fuge and what light are u using and WHERE DID U GET IT!! :) thanks

From what I've heard about chaeto, it should be tumbling in your fuge like spinning in place I'm guessing, like clothes in a washing machine lol

If you want to try a different type of macro algae that actually grows, I have caulerpa serrulata in my fuge that I trim and give away, got plenty of it right now. All I use to grow it are fluorescent household lights, grows pretty quickly and it looks nice to me

I had the same problem when I had it in a tight ball, but when I unfurled it and had it a little more flat (Thereby exposing it to more light) it really took off growing like mad.

I have the same problem too. I started off with a large ball of Chaeto. After a few months, the chaoto started splitting apart and cloging my Mag7. I have PC lighting in my fuge but it still doesnt grow.

i have bio balls in the section where my pumps are (helps remove the bubbles) so its never gotten caught in the actual pumps. but on thing that dose happen to me tho is that i get the white swirly shelled creatures (the name escapes me but there the ones that grow on the glass to) they have seemed to attach themselves to the actual plant cause its *itch to "comb" them off.
