Orange shoulder tang ?

hey all I was at reef fantasy(SI) today and he had 2 awesome orange shoulder tangs. I have him holding one for me he's pretty big at least 4" dark blue gray body nice orange strip.

what kind of temperment do they have? anyone have first hand expierence?
it's going in my 180 along with a naso, clown tang ( 3") purple sailfin, and a striped bristle tooth.
I have no real aggression in this tank all fish are thriving
I'd like to make sure he'll be able to handle it. he seemed shy in store but he just got him in.
planning on picking him up monday

PS Chris did wonders with the store! he's stocked with lots of dry goods, skimmers, sumps, Ca reactors, pumps, test kits, bulbs
got in some nice acros too

It's a pretty good fish usually does very well but does grow some what large.

It probably will have a problem with the Clown tang.

The reason why I got rid of the bristletooth was so that I could have the orange shoulder. I thought that if they had the same body type, they would get aggressive? Hmm,

The Bristletooth and the Orange shoulder have different body shapes with the Orange shoulder having a shape more like a Shoal or Clown tang.

I have had a Orange shoulder tang in my 75gal, since it was a Juv, with a Blue Line tang which is very aggressive and they get along just fine even though the Blue line tang does fight with it but it does that with all my fish.

yea nypd chris and his dad did are doing a great job with that store. i think im going to buy the asm g3 off of them since i always go to them and he is going to give me a good price on it so i cant complain. there are 2 great people. the father treats me like a million bucks well thats because maybe i have spent close to that there lolz. and for chris i always go there thinking of spending a couple of bucks and leave an hour later after talking and everything and spending $100,s more lolz. both great people. would not do business with any other lfs on the island. very trustworthy people.

i added my orange shoulder at the same time as my Kole tang and they both seem to be doing fine (about a month so far) although my Orange Shoulder appears to be a little skinny under his eyes (a little shyer to eat than the rest of the fish).

I pushed him to get that skimmer line. I loaned him my G3 for his SPS system and he was impressed with the plug and play. great skimmers for the buck w/ recirculating mod they really kick butt

surprisingly my clown tang isnt aggressive other than feeeding time. he's not really aggressive towards other fish but he does tear at nori with a vengenance.

I should have my 450 up and running by the end of march so I'm too worried about the size

frank, you should get that pair of crosshatch triggers for your 450.

the only risk i see with them is being that they are a pair, they are likely to unionize and destroy your entire reef if they dont get the food they want. :lol:

I have a connection for the cross hatch triggers I'm months away from them now.
450 should be ready end of march I have lots to do as far as the 450 is concerned, lots of furniture grade cabinetry being made, running some electrical lines, tile work on floor and wall behind tank
they will be plenty of pictures
