what do you think is the best one?
humans.

i just have someone come by to feed the fish (about every 3 days) when i am away. i like the reasurance of someone actually seeing the tank. anyway they have to refill my top-off reservior.

okay aside from humans.

I will have someone to feed the tank, but it will not be on a set schedule, and they may be looking at the tank when the lights are going off.

I need something to feed the fish in the morning and afternoon.
I was thinking of setting two or three up so I could feed them different foods each time.

those feeders arent that cheap. plus what if the jam or malfunction - you'd never know.

do you normalle feed you fish that often? how long are you planning to be away? a week? or a month?

I'm away for a week at a time. I have had good luck with the ehiem's till someone dropped it into the tank.

there design is jam proof, the barrel spins around and dumps food into the tank.
the biggest problem is a good part of the flakes end up going into the overflow.

I've gone through 2-3 of them. They work great. Except, they are very prone to moisture damage. They work great, and then, one day, they are fried. The moisture in my canopy kills the electronics. I am currently using a cheaper one, maxtor, also works well.

Don't you have a controller? Couldn't you just set it on an automatic feeding cycle that turns of the return for a few minutes.

or set it up in the return section of your sump. by the time the flakes actually get to the tank, they're well soaked.

and since they're just flake, they'll go through most any pump without a problem.
