They both would probably fit, and it is better to spend nothing and make your own trap then to spend quite a few dollars on one of those store bought traps especially when damsels are so smart they tend to elude traps.

If you think they're too big, use those 3 liter soda bottles if you can find them.
btw, you need to cut the top portion off and invert it so its like a funnel into the bottle. Once in, its harder for them to go out because they are more likely to dart into a corner where the exit is a circle in the middle

Do you glue the inverted opening into the inside of the bottle? If its glued what happens when other fish are trapped instead of the target fish do you have to keep cutting the glue and reassembling?

I put a fish trap I borrowed from Anthony27 n caught my fish in less then 15 mins. Here you can see my Hawkfish on the outside of the fishtrap. If you look closely you can see him laughing at the Lemon Peal angel inside the trap! :)

First, go to a housewares section and buy a metal tea strainer ball. Do not feed your tank for a couple of days and then put a cube of frozen food in the tea strainer and put that in the trap. The scent of the food which escapes from the holes in the strainer and their hunger trumps the fish's distrust of the trap.
