I am so use to fish smell over the years but i am getting yelled at by all my workers in my office that every time i feed pe mysis and other frozen food it smells like crap for 2-4 hrs. I am not sure if there is any way to prevent this but its getting to the point that they don't want to work. I try to feed after work but even then some people stay later then me. I am not sure if the food went bad or that i should try to shut off the canopy fans when i feed but scared of tank over heating.
Anyone else have this problem
this tank is in my office were i have cleints come and go so i have to stop doing this and show a good impresion, lol

Maybe the food did go bad or maybe you are overfeeding and there is extra floating around? I never had an issue with frozen mysis smelling except for 1 time I got disracted by the devil spawn and forgot it was defrosting in the cup came back a few hours later and I used the same description as you " It smells like death" lol

I never had PE mysis smell so bad that everyone in the room notices....sounds like it went bad...probably de-frosted and re-froze more than once..Ant was over the other day so I know it's not him and I wasn't over so it's not me either...LOL

+1 pellets lol. Also, i am very conscious of "fishy" odors in my home so i run an austin air junior air cleaner in the same room as the fish display. It's a little spendy at 300 dollars but it has 6.5 lbs of carbon/zeolite to adsorbe odors. Most other filters use those charcoal sponge pads. This has an actual bed of granular carbon. It has a tiny footprint. It really is efficient and it's a godsend if you have allergies, too, as its also HEPA.

also if you're dont need HEPA i highly recommend the sharp plasmacluster air filter which neutralizes odors by ionization. but it's NOT like a gimmicky sharper image ionizer. this is tried and true and actually infiniti offers plasmacluster in their cars as an expensive air quality "option" in. Also spendy at about 300 . it also works great in the kitchen for cooking odors. LOL i sound like a pitchman for air filters
