I am going to be moving into my new home in a couple of weeks. Right now I am using city water to make my ro/di water. The new house I'm moving to has well water. Will this affect my ro/di water? Is there anything different in well water that I should be concerned about? The house also has a water softener hooked up to the main line coming in.

It may have more sediment and minerals and what not. If anything you may go through more RO/DI elements/filters whatever you wanna call them, I dont see anything else happening though. RO is RO end result will be the same. You also may need a booster pump though.

I would get the well water tested for bacteria every 6 months.. Or put a uv sterilizer on your water pump

Well water in different areas will be different. I've been using water from my well for over 11yrs ( 350 ft. deep ). I pass it through carbon @ 5 gals. per 1/2 hr. The UV mentioned above might be a good idea.

A lot of good point here. Do not use straight well water, I tested this. It will have a hi tds reading....quite high our bodies are great at filtering out minerals and other such, it is drinkable so long as you don't use chemicals on the lawn, and like said above RO will still be RO :) idk about the UV I don't use one and I've lived here for 16 years.

Delbeek and Sprung actually talk about some natural well water is very good to use even to get some calcium needs if the water is pretty hardness (calcium carbonate).
