Guys & Gals,

Im calling on you again to take my calcium reactor to the next level. I have a Pro Cal Calcium Reactor and I would like to set it up with a Ph probe to keep my ph at my desired level 8-8.3. I would like this to turn the system on and off as needed with the PH controls.
Dose anyone have some input for me please.

Thanks everyone

If I understand your question correctly, you wish to incorporate a PH probe into the lid to be able to control the on and off of the CO2 into your media. If this is your intention, some of the vendors here will have the Probe holder that you need.

You drill the lid with the appropriate size bit, then tap the hole and finally install the probe holder. The holder is water tight and will provide the added control that you need.

I don't think that a PH measure of 8 - 8.3 will dissolve the media in the reactor. I have my reactor at 6.9, just a thought.

Salty what problems are you having ? I can help you with this reactor. I have had mine for a while and went thru all the learning curves of it. I have my pro-cal dripping into an efluent cup that has an option of putting a probe in it. I have yet to use the probe becouse I have never had issues with it. The most important thing I did to affect its performance was hook up a mj 1200 as a feed pump in this manner. This has helped it perform in a rock solid manner. Before I was gravity feeding....will never do that again. Check this article out first. If you still want to automate with a ph probe that can easily be done as well.

I just want a very stable system, and With the ph probe turning the CO2 on and off It should be that much better. Right now my reactor runs 24/7

It seems you want to turn the co2 on and off based on the tank's PH. It should be on and off based off the alk/ca needs, otherwise you will be under or overdosing. IMO, a reactor that runs 24/7 is best so its always dosing as the corals are always absorbing its ca/alk.
