I thought the damp spots in my stand were coming from the sump, but now I'm not so sure. I've got a very slow leak somewhere, and I'm seriously starting to suspect the tank. It's a 90 gallon AGA tank on an AGA stand.

Anybody ever have to deal with AGA due to a warranty claim on a tank? Any pitfalls or warnings to know about ahead of time? What is their normal procedure for this stuff?

I've got a couple water traps set up to try and catch any drips coming down. It's coming out so slowly I'm having trouble catching it, but I THINK I saw a drip falling from the display tank today.

bc you have their tank and stand they should not give you a hard time standing behind their warranty. You might be able to go through the LF that sold you the tank.

I'm thinking the same, but I will have to wait till monday to call them.... I should at least know for sure by then if it actually is the tank or not.

I can't tell though if I'm upset or happy about this. I've kinda wanted to re-do the whole thing anyway with finer substrate and some fresh marco rock. The only issue will be finding a temporary home for the livestock (not much at the moment, thankfully).

depending on what kind of lifestock you have there is always the option of selling and replacing when ready or asking people for favors.

At the moment not much livestock. 2 clowns, a Cole Tang and an itty bitty kenya tree. I only have a 10 gallon available right now, which I doubt would be enough for the fish. I'm not even going to try and save all the algae :)

I might be able to borrow back a 29 gallon from a friend of mine..... but I'll worry about that when I know more about what I'm dealing with.

Sorry to hear about your tank woes. Your 10g tank should be plenty big enough to keep those three fish and the Kenya Tree during the tank change over. Just keep a heater and powerhead in the tank, and some eggcrate over the tank during the move.
If you can also put some cardboard (or something similar) around the tank to block the fish from getting spooked that should help the stress levels stay low.

You can use a rubbermaid container and throw your live rock in there to. Heater and a pump and you will be fine. If you decide to keep your sand I would put that in there also.
Best of luck with the return. AGA should be good but maybe get a level and take a picture with it on the tank. In case they try to say it's not level.

difinity double check your equipments and see if you're the cause of the problem, AGA is really good with warranties if the tank hasnt been drilled and you use their stand, I know a guy that bought an AGA tank and the tank gave out after filling, AGA ended up paying for the tank and furnitures damaged. Make sure you have a reciept and pictures avail., BTW, It might be easier contacting the manufacture direct and I don't think it really makes a difference on what kind of livestock you have in it.

I agree just contact them directly. A receipt would probably be necessary because if you bought it used they might not honor the warranty. I am not sure what kind of policy they offer but if you know anyone at your lfs maybe they can dummy you up a receipt as a favor. Russ could probably do that for you but you have to buy $500 worth of dry goods from SWC.com LOL. Hey 1 hand washes the other :tongue1:. Seriously though look up on their site see what the policy is and then go from there. As barrie said a rubbermaid bin will be fine for the rock,10 gal is a bit small but might work. If you do decide to sell the fish I got 1st dibs on the Kole! :splitspin Good luck man I wish you the best.

Right now, I'm still totally confused about where the water is coming from. I've got a few suspicions going, and won't be making a move until I know for sure.
