I started with half I have 200 gal of water in my system .so the recommended dosing is 1000 mls of pellets I started with 500 mls .I think I have to much flow to the reactor maybe that's the problem .all the corals were open and looking good just the water was a little cloudly not crazy though.but I will have to say the asm g4 skimmer is working overtime right now pulling stuff

Charlie i had this happen at my house tank last week and my pellets got to much flow they got stuck on top of the reactor. I had like a mini sand storm and not sure if it was from pellet or sand in my fuge moving around. Coral was closed up for 3 days

Go with the 1200 initially..... but you may need to go with bigger for a full 1000ml. I'm using a maxijet 1200 to drive 500ml in a phosban 150 reactor, and it's just about perfect.

Yeah batt I think that's what it is bro , it looks like its clearing up since yesterday ill see today after work as for the pump bro it get needs to be oversized I'm using a maxi 1200 on mine and I'm using the phosban 150 reactor it fits 500 mls of pellets perfectly .I'm not sure what reactor ur using but I would guess use the 1200 not the 600 I have mine tuned down alittle but not much

Most of the threads regarding bacteria bloom is related to nitrate levels; as in the link NL146 posted earlier. It's recommended to start with 1/4 amount of recommended pellets for your tank size and increased by 1/4 amount each week after.

Could you expand on this?

When dosing vodlka or zoevite or pellets your doing carbon Aka bacteria in the system Now you have good and bad bacteria that has to be balanced in most causes bacteria is low and not balanced so Po4 and No3 are hard to keep in check and overfeeding is out of the question . The pellets are a food source for carbon and help them multiply and keep thing in balance so now your No3 and po4 are absorbed and you can feed your corlas and fish like they should and not worry about level getting out of control.

So basically you're saying that he would get a bacterial bloom if nitrates are high (which happens because the current bacteria population is not adequate to handle the high nutrient level of the system). I'm not sure if you were disagreeing but this is what was said before. Btw, carbon Naka bacteria.
