FOWLR tank random questions....

Hi all! I have a 150G FOWLR tank that I could use some advice on. Just good advice, no knocking me please because even though I have had it while I am still learning.
A couple of things..
I have a relatively agressive tank...I mean, thats what they are classified as but they are not too agressive.
I have sort of the basics:
1 Tomato clown
1 Picasso
1 hippo
1 Dog face puffer
1 blue damsel
1 other damsel I am not sure about (most agressive)
1 porcupine puffer
1 snowflake eel
and 1 chromis
I know not much for a big tank but I lost several fish about a year ago , one being a Imperator (that hurt).
Here are my questions:
Can I have ANY corals or plants at all? Lot of curious nippers in here.

What would be ideal fish to add to this group? Plenty of hiding places.

I need a HOB skimmer, cheap. Any suggestions?

I put a refugium on the back, pretty much wedged in between tank and wall. There is salt creep between the tanks, how can I get that off without removing the refugium?

Where can I get cheap algea to put in there?

Can I put any tank cleaners in there?

I wouldn't add any coral as you have a few nippers.
don't know of any other way to remove the salt creep other than just moving the tank.
A lot of people use cheato in their fuge's as it cannot spread outside of wher eyou place like some others (caulupera)
I'm not sure how the puffers would react to having snails in there. They're only a few bucks, you could always toss them in and see if they make it.

Of course I looked around the internet and everybody has an opinion. And as you obviously know, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I am asking a specialized forum for advice, which you offer nothing...I don't even know why I am responding to you. Probably because I am amazed that people like you exist.
Now back to the reason I am here. 2004Turbo - Yep, pretty much what i thought. I wish I could add some sort of color to the tank. FOWLR tanks are not to lively looking. I did the snail thing already and it was like serving up appetizers. Oh well. I guess I was looking for someone to sat "Puffers hate this or that".

You have a few nippers-- most notably the Picasso, but nothing that should prevent you from at least trying some mushroom anemones or leather corals. you should be able to pick up a few test pieces cheaply in the marketplace and see how it goes.

There realy are not a lot of great HOB skimmer choices for larer tanks. You might look for a used Deltec MCE 600 or I think Reef Octopus makes a HOB for larger tanks.

You should be able to get some Chaetomorpha for your fuge for free from someone on here.

Thanks guys! Sorry for the backlash but that guy really annoyed me! Don't know why he just hit a cord.
See, this is the info I could use, mushrooms, zenia, kenya tree (is that the same as colt coral?) I just didn't want put in something that would be perceived as dinner!
I contacted someone about the Reef Octopus, I will check out the other.

honestly no hob skimmer is really going to keep up,and actually the best bang for you buck is a skimmer for sale on here a deltec, jackson4568 or something has. i am assuming the tank isnt reef ready, if you want to make a drive to peekskill, ny i have a few types of macro algea you can have. and most softies should be fine also pending what light you have. btw senior member means nothing more then someone post a certain amount. no offense to anyone. how about a list of the equiptment you currently are using

Would you consider installing a sump? This would take the clutter out of your tank and give you more options when it comes to skimmers.

I originally had a HOB Reef Octopus BH800s skimmer on my 120 and found it to do a good job the only gripes I had about the unit was that it would release micro bubbles into the tank (Easily fixed) the other was that the sicce pump was a piece of junk. RO has new HOB that uses the Bubble Blaster pump (Great Pump) and is rated for 150 Gal. I find that RO makes a good product at a competitive price and have been happy with the skimmers I have bought from them (Wasn't happy with the sicce pump though). Sorry to disagree with the person that suggested anemone for your tank. I would not tempt that puffer.lol
Somewhere on this site is some old pix of my old dogface puffer going to town on an anemone that was put in his tank for a few minutes. Sorry I couldn't find the pic. I'll try to find it later.
Within seconds of the anemone hitting the tank the puffer was on it. He nipped it pretty bad.

Think I found it: Hope this works. These were the guys in my old FOWLR, look closely at the pic of the anemone. You can see the holes the puffer put in it.
