I know this has been asked before, BUT, anyone have any ideas on how to get fish (naso, blue face etc.) to eat algae sheets. I've tried brown, red and "sea veggies". I've also soaked it in "Entice". Only the snails are eating it. I put it in a clip on the side of the tank, also tried dropping the clip to the sand bed, no dice.

Any ideas???

They will eat absolutely anything except algae sheets, mysis, flake, pellets etc. I've had a hippo for over two years, the blue face for over a year and the naso for about two weeks. They eat like pigs, but, not the sheets.

Well, look on the bright side they are healthy and eating. They're just not use to eating marine algae but keep trying they will if you stop feeding them the other stuff.

seaweed

I would not feed anything for a couple of days then try to feed them. i give my tangs the seaweed first then they get the other offerings. They attack the seaweed.

Good luck

Thanks Andy, love the video!!! btw I lost the sohal ;( He was as healthy as a horse, then got a huge gash, it became infected and did him in. As you can see from the post I replaced him with a naso. A MUCH calmer fish, that fits the tank better and seems to have a lot more personality. The sohal was gorgeous though, glad I gave it a shot.

I guess i'll keep trying to feed the sheets. The "sea veggies" are green, maybe I'll keep trying those.

Eddie the hare is still eating (not much left), let me know when your ready.

Thanks!

I normally sandwich it between a sheet of tile and some egg crate and i place it into the rocks. The tangs normally go right after it. But the types of tangs I keep are more grazers than plantonic feeders, though they will still go for the meaty foods.

Here is another idea, wet the sheets slightly and wrap the pellets in it. They might give it a try then. Keep in mine tangs need a varied diet to stay healthy.
