I just helped a friend move one as well. There were 5 of us and it was very heavy and awkward, hard to keep your hands from slipping. We went out a door, no steps and into the back of a truck. I would say, there would be no way to carry it down basement stairs without a lift or something.

I moved mine into the basement by building a ramp and wrapping the tank in blankets then sliding it down slowly. Take your time and measure everthing to make sure it fits.

Good luck,

Ray

I'll lend a hand also. I got the branching hammer coral from you a while ago & I know you have plenty of room in the basement for a tank that size but those stairs are going to be a killer.

Hey Alex, I remember your stairs were pretty tight also. How did you get your DD tank in?

Actually I had the guys from Ocean gallery deliver it, they brought it in without a snag.
The best way was from the outside stairs, they brought it down on its side which made it easy to bring in through the door. the door is 36" and the tank is 27". Let me know we'll think something up.
